Zenergy Power plc is an AIM-listed energy technology company. Our focus is on the development and production of (non-superconducting) magnetic Fault Current Limiters (mFCLs). These devices offer protection for electrical equipment in the distribution and transmission infrastructure from power surges (‘fault currents’), caused by short circuits, fluctuations in power generation or lightning strikes. mFCLs allow substations to handle extra throughput and avoid expensive upgrades.
Zenergy’s mFCLs use traditional copper magnets instead of the more expensive and complex superconducting magnets previously required for dealing with high fault currents. As a result they offer a number of key benefits: They are smaller, cheaper and simpler to use. They are more energy efficient, with an extremely low footprint. And they are scalable to high volume production using standard transformer production techniques and technologies.
Based in the UK, and listed on the AIM market of the London Stock exchange, Zenergy’s global operations include an mFCL design and testing unit in San Francisco, USA and a research facility in Wollongong, near Sydney in Australia.
